Preference Management – AI Auto Translation

Purpose

The auto-translation feature provides an efficient way to populate missing language translations in multilingual preference labels, descriptions, and UI text. This ensures global accessibility and localized user experience without relying solely on manual translations.

How It Works

  • A user clicks “AI Auto Translate” within the Preference Management Solution.

  • The system identifies missing translations (e.g., label has English but missing Spanish/French/etc).

  • For each missing language:

    • The English source text is sent to an AI translation API

      • Either Truyo’s openAI instance or if client has their own

    • The translation is returned and automatically filled in the respective fields.

  • Users can preview and approve changes before saving.

Scope

  • Applies only to preference labels, descriptions, headers, and button text.

  • Limited to UI-facing strings, no personal data or freeform text entered by end-users.

Data Handling

  • Data Input: Only static content is sent for translation.

  • Data Privacy: No PII or sensitive data is transmitted.

  • Retention: Translations are not stored or reused by the AI provider.

Governance & Controls

  • Manual override is always available.

  • Translations must be reviewed and approved before publishing.

  • Language-specific fallback logic ensures English is used where translation is not approved or available.

Risks & Mitigations

Risk Mitigation
Inaccurate or culturally inappropriate translations Manual review process before publishing
Overwriting existing translations Only missing values are auto-filled, existing values are untouched
Data leakage No personal or user-generated data is transmitted

Benefits

  • Increases speed of global deployments.

  • Reduces manual translation workload.

  • Improves multilingual accessibility and compliance.
